Engaging the Local Church to Create Sustainable, Transformational Missions

Empowering Lives Through Faith

Teach a Man to Fish is our heartfelt offering to the global church—an invitation for anyone seeking to serve in ways that honor God and bear lasting fruit.

Through personal stories and biblical principles, we share the journey God has led us on, how He has taught and equipped us, and how His kindness transforms us into agents of transformation.

The book offers practical guidance for building effective, sustainable, and cross-cultural partnerships that glorify God and impact lives. It inspires readers to rediscover timeless truths, avoid common pitfalls, and embrace a renewed vision for reaching the world with the gospel. Together, we can align our efforts with God’s mission, ensuring that the work we do produces good fruit for generations to come.

The treasure we present is not new but rooted in God’s heart from the beginning, waiting to be rediscovered and invested in with urgency, motivation, and focus. With so many yet to hear the gospel, there’s no better time than now to join in this mission.

MISSION

MEET THE AUTHORS

Charlie Vittitow

Charlie Vittitow is an American dentist whose missionary involvement initially centered on providing essential dental care through short-term missions. Over time, he shifted his focus from delivering treatments himself to equipping local, indigenous Christians in remote regions with the training and tools they need to offer their own communities effective dental care—opening doors for the gospel as they do so.

FLORENCE MUINDI

Florence Muindi, a Kenyan physician, serves as the founder of Life In Abundance International (LIA), an organization that follows Christ’s example by addressing people’s immediate physical needs while also sharing the hope of the gospel. Under her leadership, LIA now impacts multiple African and Caribbean countries and hosts an influential global missions conference in Kenya. Though Charlie and Florence come from different cultures, disciplines, and spiritual giftings, both have answered the same call to use their talents, resources, and opportunities to make disciples throughout the world.

Teach a Man to Fish Book

GET THE BOOK

The saying, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime,” highlights an important lesson for missions work. While Relief Aid provides immediate support after disasters, it doesn’t offer sustainable solutions.

In "Teach a Man to Fish," the authors advocate for “wholistic transformational development,” which engages local churches to empower communities in identifying and implementing long-term solutions. This approach focuses on giving dignity to the vulnerable, addressing the root causes of poverty, and helping individuals gain empowerment. Filled with real-life stories, the book serves as a blueprint for churches and organizations to foster lasting change and sustainability.
